Lori Burnham Photography

Hi, I'm Lori!

My very first camera was a Kodak disc and I have been taking pictures ever since. I was documenting family vacations every year after that. I made some of my pictures into post cards. Photography was my way to tell the story of my family through the years. I could hide behind the camera since this introvert didn't like being in front of it.

I could see things in a different way by changing where I stood or how I angled the camera. I graduated to a film camera and liked the challenge it presented. I eventually got the first digital camera Kodak made and loved that I didn't have to worry about needing film. I upgraded to Canon and now have my first mirrorless that is a bit challenging but I like learning new things. I love landscapes, castles, cathedrals, abbeys, wildlife, and I am starting to learn astro. One day I hope to get a great shot of the milky way.

What Photography Means To Me

Photography changed my life

Photography helps me look at the world in a different way. Because of photography, I see leading lines, naturally occurring frames, and reflections that I have never seen before. I am always looking for them and if I don't have my camera I often pull out my phone to take a quick snapshot.

I think that photography has helped me enjoy my surroundings more. I have a new appreciation for the beauty of the world around me. I keep searching for the perfect shot like Ansel Adams.

My favorite Photo

I have a difficult time choosing my favorite photo. It changes as I see new things and visit new places. It's not easy.

Sometimes my favorite photo today might change by next week or next month, and that is because I tend to get attached to the more recent photos that I have taken. This photo is my favorite this today as I love the reflection. I will probably have a different one after upcoming vacations.

My Camera

I love my camera deeply—not just as a tool, but as a constant companion in my journey through life.

It's been with me across continents, capturing moments both grand and intimate, giving me the power to freeze time and tell stories through light and perspective. From quiet alleys in old towns to sweeping mountain vistas, it has helped me see the world more clearly and express the way I feel about it.
